Old Joy (2006)

You've heard of mumble core, this is bumble core. A story of two aging Gen-X hippies, who have lost their friendship and lost their way in life, wandering through a world that has long passed them by. To get away from the doldrums of American life, they head to the woods to find a hot spring to relax in. What ensues is a very subtle, blink-and-you'll-miss-it emotional rollercoaster ride, that illustrates the kind of fascinating filmmaker that Kelly Reichardt is. I felt like I was with them, in the hot spring. We all want to find that special hot spring in the woods, don't we?
