BAD REVIEW: The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy (2005)
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy was a hit novel in the 1980's, but given the material, far too ambitious to simply make into a film. You cannot hire your average director to helm. You need a visionary. Terry Gilliam, Wes Anderson, David Lynch or Tim Burton just to name a few. They could have gone that extra mile, but they didn't. The 2005 adaptation is gobbledegook. It's not funny or wonderfully whimsical. It's just glib. Don't panic, it's not worth it.
